Matt has 7 years experience working in the financial planning industry with the last 4 years in financial planning specialising in retirement planning. He has a wide range of interests including sports, training, hiking, reading and enjoys downtime at the beach

Experience and Qualifications

Matt has a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Wollongong majoring in Accountancy and Finance. He has also completed a Master of Applied Finance, specialising in Financial Planning where he graduated with Distinction and received two Executive Dean’s Awards. He has recently achieved his Certified Financial Planner designation.

In the last 4 years, Matt has worked as a senior financial adviser at Aware Super (formerly State Super Financial Services/StatePlus) and has experience in Public sector super funds, salary packaging, redundancy and super arrangements and investments.

At his time at Aware Super, Matt was consistently a top performer and was nominated as Financial Planner of the Year 2020 Honoree out of a pool of 200+ advisers nationwide.

Matt has managed many client portfolios including superannuation, pensions and managed funds and has a proven track record of compliant advice relating to Centrelink, tax and wealth creation strategies to help you get the most out of your retirement.

Matt has in depth knowledge of NSW State Government and Commonwealth defined benefit schemes including SASS, SSS, CSS and PSS and can assist you in navigating through complex superannuation rules. He has guided many public sector employees both pre and post retirement and prides himself on using his knowledge, skills and expertise to convey financial concepts in a manner that you understand.

Personal life

Matt enjoys a busy active lifestyle that is always focussed around his family. He is currently in the process of building his first home in Oxley Ridge with his long-term partner Nicole and is looking forward to starting a family in the next few years. Matt has a passion for fitness, travelling and loves being outdoors and hiking.
